Delaware Valley Surf Anglers Association cordially invites you to joins us in celebrating our 53rd Anniversary at the 29th annual Karl J. Boehret-Sea Isle City Surf Fishing Tournament on May 15, 2010.

This event will be a team and individual tournament. Six (6) member teams and prevailing A.S.A.C. tournament rules will be observed. A.S.A.C. member club’s registration is $50.00 per team. Individual registration is $8.00 per person. Registration checks can be made payable to: D.V.S.A.A., at the above address.

We will be awarding the Al Quartucci Memorial Trophy for the youth who catches the most fish either in a team or as an individual participant. We will also be awarding a trophy to the Woman angler who catches the largest fish.

Beach buggy permits have been waived for the tournament. Only vehicles with 4-wheel drive are permitted on the beach. Please try to limit your vehicles to two buggies per team. We will provide transportation for those teams participating in the tournament who do not have access to a 4-wheel drive vehicle. Please notify us at registration if you need transportation.

Award presentations, door prizes, free LUNCH beginning at 1:00 pm  in our headquarters located in the Sea Isle City Recreation Center on 42^nd Street Place (Click for map - same place as in previous years). 

Door prizes including 2 custom rods, lure bag and lures from AOK Tackle, hand tied rigs and teasers, and much more!!

Club History:

Delaware Valley Surf Anglers Association was founded in 1957 by Robert E. Dillon.  Previous to 1957, the original group of surf fishermen were known as the West Philadelphia Surf Anglers.  The name was changed to Delaware Valley Surf Anglers when the members moved to Northeast Philly.   Karl J. Boehret joined in 1958 and served as Treasurer of the club from 1958 until his death 33 years later in 1991!  Our tournament is named in his honor.

The club has always been actively involved in the ASAC tournament competition.  In the late 50's and early 60's, DVSA consistently placed in the top five in ASAC competition.  The club is still very active in all ASAC functions and in 2007 the B team finished 7th and the A team finished 10th in ASAC team competition.

Current members reside throughout the entire Delaware Valley region.  Men, women, children and those new to surf fishing are encouraged to participate.
